Congrats on your success in personal finance. It takes a lot of time and trial and error to become successful in today’s world. I have a few great ideas I would like to talk to you about before I jump out there and try any one of them.

I am retired from the LAPD where I served for 30 years as an administrative assistant. Unfortunately, my husband has stage 4 cancer and we are short of funds, but now that he is doing a little better (where he’s being treated by City of Hope), I have the time to go ahead and work on my own business. I really don’t want to work a 40 hour week again, and I was going to do this before my husband got ill, but he was too ill for me to be away from him (and we need the extra money because he is receiving only disability pay).

Is there any way you could kindly email me and at that point I can give you my phone number? I don’t want to say over this post what my ideas for a contractor type business are.

I have three great ideas and I think any of them would be a good choice and would attract customers without a problem. But I know you with all your expertise and talent in the personal finance industry you could advise me what you think of the three businesses I have come up with (I’ve been looking for someone like you to be “my mentor”).

I am very organized with any assignment I have taken and always do my best on any task I have done. I have exemplary customer service skills so I never have a problem with people and I have a great positive attitude. People usually like working with me and I make them laugh and enjoy whatever service I may do for them. I’m a good problem resolver in business also.

I also have two years of sales experience in the insurance industry. When I worked for the PD I served as an audio transcriptionist, transcribing audio recordings of the detectives describing crime scenes, and then they submitted the audio for me to transcribe. I had to type the reports in a verbatim format, which means word-for-word, not changing or guessing if you did not understand a word or quote, which was required by the criminal courts because the transcripts had to be presented to the court for possible prosecution. So, I had to really concentrate and make sure it was done exactly as said.

I know I would do well in handling my own business, because of the skill set, like you, over the years I have built, and my demeanor I have to stay focused and learn from an “entrepreneur” like you and to mentor me and give me your expert advice. So you have my email here and I hope you can take a moment of your time to help me out a little in this new journey I’m beginning, I would truly appreciate it.

– Sheila
